About Let It Ride

Let It Ride is a five-card stud game that involves three-player cards and two community cards. The two community cards are dealt face down at the beginning of the game. One unique feature of Let It Ride is that the player can withdraw one-third of their initial wager twice during the game. In fact, the game presents two opportunities for players to reduce their wager mid-game. The first chance is after the player looks at their hand before the first community card is revealed, whereas the second chance is after the initial community card is revealed but before the second one is shown. The player can reduce their wager on either occasion, both, or neither. Another fun feature of this game is that, unlike other casino games, you only play for yourself rather than against the house or a dealer.

Once the Game Starts

The dealer begins the game with three cards to each player, starting from the left. Additionally, the dealer places two community cards face-down on the table. Players cannot view each other's cards until the game ends.

Once players have made their bets, the dealer begins dealing from their left. Each player receives one card, followed by the first community card, which is dealt face-down. Then, the dealer hands out another card to each player, which is then followed by the second community card, and finally, a final card to each player. During the deal, players are not allowed to reveal their cards or look at other players' cards until the end.

After you've examined your three cards, you can request the dealer to return your initial bet or choose to "Let It Ride." The game then proceeds to the next round, during which the dealer reveals one of the community cards. All players incorporate the community cards into their five-card hand and then conceal their cards, face-down, under the bet. The dealer exposes the second community card, concluding the game.

Guide for Winning Hands

Aim to have a pair of tens or better in your five-card hand to win. Remember that two of the five cards are "community" cards that all players can use. The dealer deals these cards face down, and you have two chances to withdraw one-third of your initial three-part bet. Keep an eye out for the Royal Flush, which happens when you get A, K, Q, J, 10 of the same suite. Players can also have a straight flush, which means you have a series of five cards in a row of the same suit. For example, a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 of hearts, this is a straight flush. Other examples of a winning hand are a full house (which is a combination of three of one number and two of another). You can also have a straight hand, which is five cards in sequential order but of no particular suit.

What Happens with a Winning Hand

When the second community card is revealed, and a player has a winning hand, they will receive a payout based on a table. The payout amounts may vary slightly between different casinos. In Let It Ride, a pair of 10s is usually the lowest paying hand, while a pair of nines or less is considered a losing hand. When this happens, the player will lose the rest of their wager to the house.
